Stained Glass Isn’t Just An Art Form—It’s a Living Masterpiece That Evolves With the Light

We are a stained glass studio in the heart of Fort Belvoir in Virginia offering small group & private classes for stained glass learners of all levels. We’re hellbent on shattering the notion that stained glass art is just for "old retired people" and show the world how fun and magical working with stained glass can be.

  • Beginner Stained Glass 3-Week Course

    Learn the basic concepts of stained glass art using the copper foil method – also known as Tiffany method. Choose from one of our preselected patterns to create a beautiful suncatcher from start to finish! During this class you will learn everything you need to know to create a suncatcher to include safe glass cutting and handling, foiling, and soldering techniques.

  • One-Day Stained Glass Beginners Course

    This class is perfect for busy people with limited time.  Students will learn the basics of stained glass art using the copper foil method and build on a preselected pattern to create a beautiful suncatcher from start to finish. During this class you will learn everything you need to know to create a suncatcher to include safe glass cutting and handling, foiling, and soldering techniques.

  • Parent & Child Experience

    Our parent/child experience is the perfect place for you and your child to try something unique. We thrive on allowing our kids to lead the design process and be engaged from start to finish. In this 4-hour session you and your child will work together to create a stained glass suncatcher. Choose from one of our preselected patterns to create a beautiful suncatcher!

  • Intermediate Stained Glass Course

    This class expands on lessons learned in the Intro to Stained Glass Class. Students must be familiar with using patterns, cutting glass by hand, grinding, and soldering with foil and lead. If you have not done these things before, you will need to take the Intro to Stained Glass Class.

  • Team Building

    Hosting your team-building event with Vagabond Glassworks, whether onsite or at our studio, offers a unique and creative experience that fosters collaboration and communication. It's a fun and hands-on way to bond with your team while creating beautiful, lasting art together. No cutting is involved in this class, and it is a good precursor to the Beginners Stained Glass Course. Students will learn to foil and solder.

  • Date Night

    Looking for a fun night out with your BFF, date, spouse, etc? Come join us for date night where you and your partner will create a honeycomb suncatcher using a precut pattern. At the end of the class, you will walk out with a beautiful, finished piece. No cutting is involved in this class, and it is a good precursor to the Stained Glass Beginners Course. Students will learn to foil and solder.

Hi, I’m Ruth

I’m a proud veteran, mom, and someone who’s lived in various countries and states in my military life—life’s been quite the adventure! When I’m not in the studio, I love spending time with my kids and loyal hounds or bingeing my favorite shows. My journey with stained glass has been an exciting one, full of discovery and creativity, and I’m passionate about sharing that experience with others.
